GOALS
The conference aims to explore, in an in-depth and interdisciplinary way, the complex interactions between Law and Development, Human Rights and Extractivism.
The specific objectives of the conference are:
To explore critical issues such as gender, children's rights, inequality, discrimination and indigenism/cosmo indigenism in the context of development;
To discuss legal mecanismo capable of guaranteeing effective redress for communities impacted by extractive activities, improving local and international legal systems; and
To promote interdisciplinary debates on the impacts of mining on affected communities, including environmental damage, human rights violations and forced displacement.

Professors and students, researchers from 39 institutions
from around 15 countries and the general public.
